Good Afternoon, MTMS Families,
As you know, Landis Run Intermediate School, Manheim Township Middle School, and Manheim Township High School brought the Rachel’s Challenge program to our buildings this school year. Rachel Scott, the first victim of the Columbine school shooting, offered the following five challenges in her journals:
- Look for the best in others
- Dream big
- Choose positive influences
- Speak with kindness
- Start your own chain reaction
Rachel’s Challenge Book Drive
The Manheim Township School District Pupil Services Department recognizes that there are many families in need within our school district. In conjunction with our district social workers, Ms. Roseanne Myers and Ms. Jaime Falgie, Rachel’s Challenge, the FOR Club, is hosting a book drive for those district families. All donated books will be collected and organized by the Rachel’s Challenge Club and will be available to students and their families at the District Holiday Shoppe.
The Holiday Shoppe will take place on Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Manheim Township District Office.
If you are able, we are looking for books that can be separated by grade levels:
Elementary Levels: Intermediate Level:
K-2 3-4 5-6
Middle School Level: High School Level:
7-8 9-12
Thank you for ‘dreaming big’ and supporting our students by contributing to this chain reaction!
Please bring your new and gently used books to the Middle School. There will be boxes located outside the Main Office. You may drop your book into the appropriate grade level bin. We will then collect, sort, and transport to the District Office for the Holiday Shoppe.
Deadline for book donation: Friday, December 2, 2022
