Volunteer Committee Position Descriptions
Family Social/Back to School Night (casual family social)
Location: At Landis Run
5th Grade Fun Night (drop off event with chaperones)
Location: in the gym and cafeteria areas or off site with permission from the principals.
The committee is responsible for creating a fun drop off event for 5th grade students. All plans must be approved by the LRIS PTO Board and LRIS Administration. Committee members must: Reserving the date at the school or chosen venue **Plan for chaperones and activities for the event with the committee **Making flyer and getting it approved by LRIS Administration **Organize ticket sales for the 5th grade students during lunches.
Teacher Conference Dinner
Location: Landis Run Cafeteria
The committee is responsible for creating a teacher and staff appreciation meal. All plans must be approved by the LRIS PTO Board and LRIS Administration. Committee members must: Arrange dinner for the staff of about 75 during conference times meal can be donated by parents or a local restaurant **Reserve the cafeteria **coordinate with Volunteer Coordinator to send out a sign up for the event for donations and setup and cleanup help.
Staff Appreciation Luncheon
Location: Landis Run Staff Lounge
The committee is responsible for creating a teacher and staff appreciation meal. All plans must be approved by the LRIS PTO Board and LRIS Administration. Committee members must: **Arrange lunch for the staff of about 115 ** meal can be either donated by parents or a local restaurant **ask for 100 $10 gift cards from parents to give to staff member as a “Thank You” **Reserve staff lounge for the event **work with Volunteer Coordinator to ask for donations and help from parents.
Book Fair
Location: Landis Run Library
The committee is responsible for coordinating with the LRIS Librarian to help manage a book fair during Parent/Teacher conferences. All plans must be approved by the LRIS PTO Board and LRIS Administration. Committee members must: ** Coordinate with Ms. Peddie (librarian) **Arrange volunteers with Volunteer Coordinator for set up, preview, fair times, and clean up **Coordinate with the PTO for petty cash and volunteers **help set up and clean- up of the fair.
6th Grade Fun Night (drop off event)
Location: Off-site – Overlook Skating Rink, Sky Zone, or another approved site
The committee is responsible for creating a fun drop off event for 6th grade students. All plans must be approved by the LRIS PTO Board and LRIS Administration. Committee members must: Reserving the date at the school or chosen venue **Plan for chaperones and activities for the event with the committee **Making flyer and getting it approved by LRIS Administration **Organize ticket sales for the 5th grade students during lunches.
PSSA Celebration (Fun Lunch)
Location: Cafeteria
All plans must be approved by the LRIS PTO Board and LRIS Administration. The committee is responsible for: **Reserve the gym for the show **Coordinate with principals for timing and any needed volunteers.
Talent Show
Location: Gym and stage – 5th Grade students perform on Friday – 6th Grade students perform on Saturday night – depending on participation level.
All plans must be approved by the LRIS PTO Board and LRIS Administration. The committee is responsible to: **Reserve the school gym for auditions, dress rehearsals, and the 2 evenings of the event **Organize volunteers to chaperone the students during auditions, rehearsals, and the show **Making flyer and getting it approved by LRIS Administration.
Library Volunteer
Volunteers are needed during the school day in the library to help shelf books. Volunteers may also be covering contact paper on new books before they are used by students. Days and times are arranged with LRIS Librarian.
